Ghosts and goblins will appear! Halloween is one of my favorite nights of the year. It brings back fond memories of trick or treating with my brother while our father strolled along and helped us with our candy. We’d leave around 6pm and cover as much area as possible until our time ran out. We’d come back with two pillow sacks full of candy and treats. Well nowadays, Halloween has turned into one the biggest party nights of the year. There are also many Day of the Dead celebrations going on as well. It’s the perfect time to bring in fun and appropriate music (monster mash etc…), costumed entertainers (psychics, tarot card readers, magicians, hypnotists), Face painters, Caricature artists and more to make your party a total success. If you’re in need of any last minute ideas or entertainment don’t hesitate to contact me. I work with more that 400 professional performing artists locally and am here to help!

New for 2011!
The New Year’s here and I’m starting fresh! After lot’s of requests and inner searching, I’ve decided to move forward and create a brand new production this year. It’s called from “Samba to Soul”. This hip and fun show is family friendly and has a touch of Latin, Soul, Caribbean, Jazz, Reggae & more! Imagine Carlos Santana, Herb Alpert, Ray Charles and Bob Marley sitting on a beach, sipping cocktails creating some hot new vibes! This show is perfect for fun in the sun venues, wineries and multi-cultural events.
This new band will include some very special musicians and will reunite me with some old friends. On bass will be my good buddy and Detroit transplant Eddie Watkins who’s played on hit after hit album over the years. You’ve heard him on tunes like I Will Survive, Shake Your Groove Thing, I Can Dream About You and hundreds of others. My long time buddy Bruce Laven will be playing keyboards and singing. Bruce got me my first gig when I moved to Seattle (with Duffy Bishop no less!) and is a monster musician. Garey Williams will be laying down the funkiest grooves on drums. He and I recently worked in a new project which reunited us so it will a blast to work with him again. There’s no one else that plays like him around these parts. Frank Seeberger will be rounding out the band on acoustic and electric guitar. His background includes classical guitar, Latin and pop styles. He’ll be a welcome addition. As for yours truly, in addition to playing trumpet, flugelhorn and accordion, I’ll be doubling on keyboards and singing too. This is some super cool music and I’m excited for you to hear and dance to it. Stay tuned for our upcoming shows!
Questions to Ask Any Professional Entertainer
It is important to ask the right when interviewing a potential entertainer. Musical entertainment is usually the first thing you will remember from your event and is one of the biggest factors in the success (or failure) of the event. Your best bet is to be completely informed about any potential entertainer. Ask the right questions and get referrals from trusted sources.
Will we be guaranteed to have the performer of our choice?
How long has the performer been doing business?
What is their experience with private events; how many have they performed?
Do they have professional references we may contact?
Is there a video performance we can preview?
What do they do that is unique or special?
Do they have any special training, or certification?
Will the entertainer direct activities at our event?
What planning process would you go through for our event?
Are you flexible with the style of performance?
Have you worked at our chosen location before?
If our event runs over on time, will you stay? Would there be an extra charge for that?
Are any deposits refundable if we need to cancel?
Do you have any special needs if our event is outdoors?
Will your performance include breaks? If so, how long? Are you able to provide music in the background during the break?
Will you require food during the event?
Do you take specific requests during the event?
How early will you arrive for setup?
What type of wardrobe/costumes will you have for our event?
In addition to a sound system, do you also bring lighting system?
Don’t be afraid to ask these questions. Any reputable professional will be happy to answer any of these questions.

How To Avoid A Massive Pile Up At Your Event
Here’s something that often gets overlooked when planning an event. Coordination of all vendors loading in! Many times there is just one loading area to bring everything in through. If your band, staging, lighting, sound, decorators, caterers and everyone else arrives simultaneously you can have a massive traffic jam on your hands that can result in frustration and wasted time for everyone. The easiest solution is to coordinate set up times with your vendors and/or put them in touch with each other. A group email works well for this. Sometimes it’s advisable to work with fewer vendors that can provide more services for you. This can result in better pricing and a more coordinated effort. For instance I can help you with all your entertainment needs as well as all aspects of production (sound, staging, lighting, video and much more) no matter how big or small your event might be. Hope these tips will help things run smoothly for you!
