Who We Are And Why This Matters

For the Love of Quincy! is more than a tribute concert — it is a celebration of artistic legacy, cultural impact, and the enduring power of music to connect generations.

Led by acclaimed trumpeter, bandleader and show producer Bobby Medina, this production honors the life and music of Quincy Jones, one of the most influential composers, producers, and cultural figures of the last century. Quincy’s work shaped modern jazz, film scoring, pop, soul, and global music — crossing genres, cultures, and generations in ways few artists ever have.

At the heart of this project is the Quincy Jones Square Celebration Orchestra, a scalable ensemble (from 11-18 members) rooted in Bremerton, Washington — the city where Quincy Jones spent his youth and where his musical foundation was first formed. This unique geographic and historical connection gives the show a rare authenticity, grounding the performance not only in iconic music, but in place, memory, and lived history.
