The Cosmopolitan Pops Orchestra (a.k.a. Cosmopops) is a new and exciting ensemble under the direction of Bobby Medina. Acting as music director, trumpet soloist and arranger, this orchestra is the result of his lifelong desire to create an ensemble that will contain the best qualities of symphonic, jazz, pop and Latin music. With it’s specialized instrumentation and conservatory trained musicians, the Cosmopops orchestra is able to perform a dynamic array of musical styles that is unique unto itself.

Instrumentation:
This 23+ member ensemble includes: Male and female vocal soloists, piano/synthesizer, bass (both acoustic and electric), guitars, drum set, Latin percussion, orchestral percussion, 2 reed players (doubling on saxes, clarinets and flutes), French horn, trombone, trumpet, a string section which includes violins, violas, cello as well as a conductor.

About Bobby Medina
Musical director, Bobby Medina has appeared as featured soloist on world tours with the legendary Ray Charles. He has also garnered an impressive list of stints and performances with such notables as Frankie Valli, Wayne Newton, Mel Torme, Pete Barbutti, Mel Brown, Chubby Checker, Motown legends The Four Tops, Temptations, The Spinners, Martha and the Vandellas, The Coaster and many others. Locally his trumpet has been heard at the Paramount Theater, the 5th Ave Theater, Meany Hall, Pantages Theater and on numerous commercials and radio ads. Bobby has performed around the globe in such distant countries as Sweden, Italy, Portugal, France, Holland, Belgium, Argentina, Chile, Japan, Israel and Turkey to name a few. Originally from Los Angeles California, Bobby now makes his home in Western Washington.
